Yup.. good eye! The rest of him was great, too - rolled in flour - little salt and pepper, browned in a hot skillet with olive oil!

Yes, 2"x6" walls with dense fiberglass - R23. Original ceiling was fiberglass - R38 and I put 12" of blown-in cellulose on top of that. No idea what the R value of that is...

Minus 20F here this morning. Very nice, though. Crisp, blue skies and not a whisper of wind.

Need to burn some of my logging slash from the new pasture clearing. Great conditions for that!

This thread offers a wonderful opportunity to see the real beauty from various locations around the country (and Canada) as well as a chance to appreciate the different places that fellow TBNer's have established for themselves and their families.

Seems like the past few years, whenever I'm on the road; it's with 10,000lbs or more strapped to the bumper and I'm not stopping alot to "smell-the-roses"!

Hey AKFish,

We had a family move in a few years ago for a summer, Bull and a Cow and later had a run in with a calf. The Cow had a habit of looking in our dinning room window, boy that was rough first thing in the morning before coffee.

LOL..! What -- you didn't want to give her a little smooch -- that early in the morning!??!

They always make me just a bit edgy.. 'cause they're so unpredictable (read dimwitted) and skittish! They'll spook (badly) from somethin' as innocent as a cat walkin' across the yard!

And run you or anything else in their path, right over!

Kinda wonder if - she'd bolt thru the window..

We'll they salt the roads up here, a few years ago a guy drives home from work late with a dirty truck. He got up the next morning and there laying beside his now clean PU truck is a Moose, she had licked all the salt off his truck during the night.

I came out of the shop one day not looking first and found myself face to face with the bull, he was about ten feet away, I just slowly moved backwards to the shop door and slowly got back in, he just stood there looking at me.

When it would rain they would lay out in the yard, they would wonder over the a gravel pit about 1/4 mile to the east and swim daily and eat a few soybeans while over there then come back for the night. It was fun having them around. Did not know the calf was there until he ran out in front of me on the 9N while mowing.
