Portable Jump Starter

I have the TACKLIFE T8 Pro 1200A Peak 18000mAh Water-Resistant Car Jump Starter. Seems OK, suppose to should recharge it. It lives in the floor tool box in our Ranger.

Based off project farm's video, I did purchase this one for keeping in the Ranger at the cabin. I take it to some super remote places in Wyoming where it might be weeks before someone is close by. So it was a no brainer to get one for a just in case situtation. I have had no need to use it, but I'm sure I will.

Like the farm project guy found in his testing these, the claimed power reserve it less than advertised. I figure the same thing when I purchase aftermarket battery's for my makita tools.

Practically speaking, these battery jump starters take up less room than a set of jumper cables, provide a source of power without having to have a second vehicle as a power source, and can be taken into spaces where jumper cables won't reach. Eg. you don't have to beg someone to let you jump from their vehicle and it doesn't matter that the hood of your car is at the end of a parking space you can't reach with cables.

I agree and they seem to work just fine. Glad we got one.

I went with a Noco based of ProjectFarm videos and a demo I got when buying a F800 that had no batteries but the seller cranked it with the Noco multiple times. I’ve used it to start tractors multiple times on a single charge and my generator a few times. I’d really like to get one for each road vehicle but it’s too cost prohibitive.

I found it 96% charged after sitting in our truck for about 3+- years. It needs a special wall charger that I can not locate. Maybe needed that was not the best thing........ Update! Found the charger and its doing it now.

some of the newer ones charge using a type C USB, which is handy.

Here is the project farm test. I like this guys test videos.

I need an aspirin after listening to that guy for 15 minutes. It's like the old Fed Ex commercials, but at least those were only 30 seconds long.
