Posible blizzard coming to Massachusetts and surrounding states

Well, it's 62 here and the sun's been shining all day. Saw some nice looking ladies in tank tops and shorts walking/jogging this afternoon. Also ran the AC in my truck coming back from my parents house this afternoon, the sun was shining right in the cab and heating it up, so I turned on the air a bit. Ya'll just be sure to keep that cold, white, messy stuff up there now!

A picture of the tractor stuck in the snow on the lawn. It's a steep hill with poor traction without the snow and the snow was about 30" deep. I did manage to push forward about 25' before getting stuck. Took the snowblower to rescue myself, I couldn't do it with the bucket curl because of the hill (kept sliding back). Luckily this was after I had finished all the real work.

We have essentially the same setup - FEL and rear blade and I have older 8.5 HP 27" Craftsman. When we get more than 18" the FEL and blade is a scoop and dump process, so I take two runs with the snow blower up/down the driveway and around the garage, house and barn.

Then cleanup and doing the bigger areas and banks/piles with the tractor seems to be the most efficient. This storm is the first real snow since 2010 when we got three storms in a period of 2 weeks of 10-18" each.

Glad you were able to navigate out of your situation and take a picture too. At least we have power unlike SE Ma where it was heavy and wet snow.

I had a B7610 w/ rear blade and got stuck in a deep snow exactly like that. It was on a slope and if I had taken a picture it would have looked the same. I put chains on the rear tires after that and never got stuck again. It was like night and day with chains vs. without.

We got 30" of snow here with higher drifts and the tractor blower was a life saver as it was the only machine in the neighborhood that would go through the snow. Cleared out all the neighbors who were struggling with small snow blowers and plows and even (gasp) hand shovels. Even cleared the road where a small plow truck pushed a big mount of snow and got stuck and left it. The big town plow truck could not get by it and turned around. Boy I can't tell you what a grin it brings to my face when that blower just eats up those heavy plow piles. Tractor and blower really earned its keep today.

We woke up today to about 28-30 inches of fresh snow. I spent about 6 hours clearing snow, and cleaning the roofs. I need a 3PH snowblower, but my Ariens is a 32in 10hp, and it is a beast. I had to use it to get out of the garage. The snow was over the top of it, so everywhere I cleared, had to be done a second time. We first dug out the horses in the barn, then the pasture gates, then the chickens, and then I had to make a trail into the woods to our manure pile about 1000 feet into the woods. I need some advil!

Driveway clear to street still waiting for city to show up so I can finish up, plow out mom and uncle. Over 4 foot drifts in the road.
