Posible blizzard coming to Massachusetts and surrounding states

A solid 24" here, still snowing lightly. Spent 3 hours clearing out with the tractor and a snowblower. Drove around the neighborhood (no cars on the road due to the travel ban) and cleared out 6 other people's driveways to help them out. Lots of people doing it only by hand. The roads were open but only about 1.5 lanes with drifts everywhere. My little B2920 is too small for this depth, I discovered that I can use the rear plow up to 11", beyond that I bottom out (12" of clearance). Pushing it does a lot better, but for swaths more than 25' or so I run out of weight / traction. I actually got it hopelessly stuck on my lawn in 3' of powder on a hill and had to snowblow it free!

Hope everyone made it through with minimal damage. Looks like the SE 1/3 of MA is almost entirely without power and has been since yesterday evening.

I think I will work at cleaning up my bell buoy that I got for $300.00. Still needs lots of elbow work.

Now that would make a serious dinner bell! The whole town would come.

22-26" here in the middle of western Mass. I like the loader-mounted plow now, as some of the banks are pushed up 8'. Turned into a beauty afternoon. Daughter north shore Mass got 22" and 2 adults with shovels they'll be at it awhile.
Meanwhile my roof is cleaning itself off.
Stay warm tonight.

Nice pics - how is your driveway bare already - must be warmer there?

Its 20 here now - snow stopped about noon around 26" total but drifts in places 30". Did the drive and helped a few neighbors - was nice getting some time outside - insulated coveralls were great!

Sheared on pin in my blower hitting a buried tomato cage at neighbors place - just glad it didnt wrap it self around the impeller or auger.

Older pic of B21 but essentially looks the same today - weather and all.

I just came in the house from working outside and my Wife told me that her Sister in Connecticut gor two feet of snow. Her Sister showed a picture on the internet where one of the neighbors built two feet sticking out of the snow indicating the amount of snow.

A picture of the tractor stuck in the snow on the lawn. It's a steep hill with poor traction without the snow and the snow was about 30" deep. I did manage to push forward about 25' before getting stuck. Took the snowblower to rescue myself, I couldn't do it with the bucket curl because of the hill (kept sliding back). Luckily this was after I had finished all the real work.

Have a hill and have to plow the top then salt as I go so I can get some traction. Sun helped about 25 degrees but wind helped dry.

If it were green my wife might think it was me. As they say been there done that!

It's 4:30pm here in Mid-Coast Maine, blizzard warning has expired but one couldn't tell it by looking outside. Still snowing and blowing pretty good. I have almost 30" in my driveway, my car is buried to the point I can only see the roof. Latest forecast was it was to continue snowing until at least 8pm. I walked/trudged out to the street to talk to a town snow plow guy for a few minutes. When he was done doing our street he was heading to see if he could help free his partner who had gotten the other town truck stuck. I was only out 15 minutes, but all my tracks were already filled in. Too much wind and snow at this point to bother to clear things out... it would be a waste of time. Guess I am going to be up early in the morning clearing things out, I am suppose to be in Boston by noon.

Yeah, I've been stuck like that in the driveway. I've found with deep snow, I need to work from a cleaned off area that I keep extending. I didn't have my tire chains yet then either. But even with good chains. there are limits.

The nearest official snow depth recording was 9.2", it stopped snowing about 30 minutes ago. Drifting is expected to persist overnight as the winds settle down.

I have a drift about 4-1/2 feet deep across the overhead door, then bare gravel 10' away. It looks to be that way in general, either a drift, or nothing.
