The bad news, is this thing was the final straw that is forcing me to get stabilizers for the 3 point lift arms. The store only had one so I have to wait a week or two until they get another truck in to get the other one. Not 100 percent sure if what I am jerry rigging will work but time will tell. The issue was when I was trying to lower it back into the hole after clearing some dirt off it would get really really wobbly and shake all over the place. I have about 6 inch's or more of slop in the hitch set up. I will remedy this, just not sure exactly how I will do it yet, but I think what I am trying right now will work.
Now onto the good news.
Putting it all together was a breeze. Checking clearance here to make sure it wouldn't bind, and the PTO shaft would stay together. All the way down
All the way up
Auger on
Digging the hole.... I definatly babied it being the first hole I have ever dug w/ an auger, but I think she could have handled drilling the entire hole in one swoop here she is around 30 inch's or so
Here she is closer to 40 inches deep
Now this hole was definatly not straight up and down. I almost gave it to much forward gear while it was spinning and decided I was going to use the loader for finer adjustments. By putting the bucket down w/ just a little pressure I am able to keep it in neutral and use the bucket to move the tractor forwards and backwards about 10 inches either direction. I think this will be enough movement to keep a straight hole and with some practice I should be able to drill fairly straight holes in no time
Here is the hole, I don't know why I took a picture of it other than to make this thread more interesting and entertaining for you guys
One last parting shot
