Posthole Digger Post hole digger quick question

I have a NH TC40 tractor and someone around here has a Danuser F-8 for sale for 750.00 with a 12 bit and extension. On their website, it says that that model is for 40HP and up tractors. What problems would I have by using that model with my 40HP tractor? Is it too much PHD for my unit? Let me know some thoughts before I buy. As well, is that a decent price?

I looked at it and don't see any problems using it with your tractor. This phd has a heavy duty gear box and uses 3" spindle size bits as compared to cheaper ones which use 2" spindles. This unit is capable of drilling a larger hole, up to 36" diameter.

The only downside to this unit I can see is the bits will be less popular, and may need to be special ordered, and the auger bit will turn slower with the increased gear reduction. If I were looking for another 3 pt phd I would go for it, it is a heavy duty quality implement.

I would think you could buy/make an adapter to run 2" augers.

Well, picked up the F8 tonight. Paid a total of $600.00, came with a 14" auger, extension for auger and he said a driveline extension, along w/ owner's manual; the guy I bought it from, bought it new. Sorry about all the commas. He said he only used it a few times, it is in very good shape. Oh, and twenty dollars in fuel. So, looks to be a good investment.

The F8 is a great 3 pt PHD. They are designed for tractors much bigger than a TC40. The extra weight is nice for getting it to dig. For $600, you got a great deal IMHO.
