You may want to check the High and Low Setting on the Carb - I'm sure with it being a newer model chainsaw you will need the special adjustment screwdriver.

finally got time to watch..and will be ordering that fancy tool...why companies feel they can force into a high dollar repair shop by changing things to use tools we do not have already....I will never know

Lately, it seems that all small engine carbs have plastic "limiter" caps pressed or molded onto the jet adjustment screws (EPA-required, I guess, to prevent us clueless consumers from adjusting anything so that emissions might result!!). I have found that these can almost always be removed with either some side-cutters, or a dremel cutoff wheel very carefully applied so as to cut only the plastic. Underneath the plastic, there has invariably been an old-style adjustment slot cut into an old-style adjustment needle. I had one little echo chainsaw that refused to idle and only required backing the Lo speed needle out a few turns and then resetting at about 1 to 1-1/2 turns to clear it out. Of course, I had to remove the plastic limiter to do so.

Now, keep in mind that all of the above is purely theoretical and in my imagination only, as I would NEVER actually modify any gubmint agency mandated "safety" features!

To remove the limiter caps, you can thread a drywall screw into the cap and then pull it out. Normally they are designed to slide in/out when the screw is in a certain position. I've done this on two saws I bought recently that needed adjustment. No special tools required.
