Power steering unable to steer with full bucket and no movement. Is that normal?

/ Power steering unable to steer with full bucket and no movement. Is that normal? #31
I keep having to remind my lady friend and weekend helper, not to turn the wheels of any machine or even her own car if it's not at least moving a bit. It's hard on everything.

That and holding the wheel at end of travel, while the relief screams.
All that accomplishes is, it's heats up the fluid (because you are deadheading the pump at that point), it makes an irritating noise and accomplishes nothing. Same applies to an automobile or pickup trick with power (hydraulic assisted steering). Not so much with power assisted rack and pinion steering because the steering mechanism has a built in fluid bypass.

I do know that neither of my Kubota tractors can articulate the front wheels (steering movement) with the bucket full or a large round bale on the bale spear. you have to always move the units slightly to get the front wheels to steer. Never been an issue with me and in reality I don't want steering movement when stationary because scrubbing the tires against the ground, smashes the hay plants and that isn't something I wish to do anyway. Counter productive for me.
