Re: Power Trac Dreaming

We have an organic recyclying facility in the county. The mulch is free if you load it or $4.00 a yard if they load it(which usually just involves a guy with the front end loader filling your pickup to overflowing with one scoop and waving bye-bye to you with a big smile). There have been no problems with weeds, as it gets to a pretty high temperature while rotting. The only problems are that it has lots of ground up plastic bags in it, as the city residents are required to bag it. I'm planning to get several loads this spring.

Re: Power Trac Dreaming

If that's the CC landfill, it's actually got some ground up trash in it (plastic bags, etc.) but overall not bad for free. No weed growth problems when I tried it. But, they are now forbidden to load anywhere but at the main landfill. And supposedly, you can't bring in your own equipment to load with anymore either. So, for (WOW) 65 yds. you're probably way ahead to buy it.

Re: Power Trac Dreaming

Yep, thats the one. I've had pieces of plastic in my bulk deliverys of mulch too. No extra charge i assume.

Power Trac Mowing Performance

How well does the PT425 mow in tall grass? Because of my schedule, I often can’t mow when I should and the grass sometimes get pretty high before I mow. Can the PT "power through" tall grass? From what I read over on the Kubota thread, this is a major advantage of the BX. Also, how fast can you mow with the PT in a straight line? In other words, will the mower provide a good cut even if you are running at full speed (8 mph)? TX.
