POWERED-RIDE ON TOY SUGGESTIONS

our lil man was 3 in Jan and has been riding a battery power 4 wheeler since he was 2 1/2. Now he has a john deer tractor with trailer he got from Santa as well. Both are from Toys R us... The 4 wheeler looks like a kawasaki andx has a foot pedel for basic go and a twist throttle for boost. Which is good for hilly yards like ours.
Today the wife got him a 49cc for wheeler off ebay for $900 including shipping. It's got a 4stroke horizontal engine, hydrolic disc brakes and indipendant front suspension and adjustable rear mono shock. Here's the kicker.... It comes with electric start and a wireless remote kill and start and trickle charger.

See if I can post a pick... BTM

Here is a link to the ebay listing of one: BTM 4x4

While it may be more than you are looking for, I thought others might find this interesting. I like the 4stroke for quite long life and low end torque compared to the 2 strokes when you set the throttle to low speed. It also has the tipical adjustable throttle down to 5mph (same speed as his battery 4x4). With a max of 27mph...

My girls have also moved up to ATV's. We started with a used Suzuki LT50. My oldest was 5 when we got it and the youngest was 2 1/2 and wanted to ride. Surprize! she actually rode it very well, even knew how to use the brake. We found a used Honda 70 last summer but the oldest really wasn't ready for shifting, even with an auto clutch. Then in January I found a Kasea dealer that was going out of business. I bought a Kasea Outback 90 for $995. It has a throttle limiting screw so the 7 year old can ride it safely and the 4 year old has the 50cc all to herself. Now I have the 70, at least until I sell it.

we were looking at the HUMMER, BUT HAVE READ SOME NOT SO GOOD REPORTS ON IT. any of you guys/gals got any recomendations? experiences?

All of the early issues with the Hummers have been fixed and the company has reworked any existing stock to meet the specs of the new models. Also, Wal-mart has lowered the price considerably to attract anyone soured by any stories of the early models. I've personally bought two as gifts for others.

I noticed you had to go the same route with the bicycle helmet. When my youngest daughter wanted to start riding at about 2 1/2 years old, all we could find in the way of a helmet was a wrap around bike helmet like yours. She turned 4 last September and I found her a moto-cross helmet with face protection.

All of the stock in the stores should have the revised (more heavy-duty) parts.

Original retail on the Hummers was $249 for the Walmart version (yellow) and $299 for the TRU version (grey with larger tires, two way radios, and other upgrades).

Walmart.com is advertising the Hummer for $237, but I've seen two different Wal-mart locations selling it for $224 and $199. ToysRus.com is advertising their version for $269.95. Check both of them out.

The Walmart version is pictured in my last post. Here's the TRU version...

yep, we plan to try a local bike shop this weeked to at lest see if we can find a BMX helment that might fit. They are usally full faced and made of something other that foam. Till he is big enough to wear a moto helment. Right now, the one or 2 moto helments that are close in size are just to heavy for him and keep slipping foward so he can't see well enough.
