"5) Lights on the ROPS standard "

This item on ByronBob's post has stuck in my mind all week. Instead of lights ON the ROPS, though, how about integral lighting built into the ROPS? I'm thinking of a ROPS with a different cross section to accomodate front and rear adjustable lighting, built right in. Maybe as a custom option, like folding ROPS are for some tractors.

Lights built into the ROPS is a great idea. I am still procrastinating on my project to add lights to the foldable ROPS of my L3710. If I could swap out the whole top assembly (the folding part) and add lights that were out of the way and had a "factory look" to them at a reasonable cost, I'd be all over it!

Work lights in the ROPS is a great idea! I have debated adding them to my BX for 4 years, have not seen a method that I like. On top of the Rops, or on the side, I would always be worried about knocking them off on a branch; under the Rops and I can just picture hitting my head on them.

I saw a Allmond FEL/BH yesterday that had 2 lights mounted under the ROPS standard from the factory. They turned on when the ignition switch turned on. It was a fixed ROPS not foldable but there must be no concern in their minds about it.

I'm not wavering on mounting some. When I get time their going on. Too many times in the winter I'm cleaning snow in the evening in the dark. Must have more lights

Different ROPS Options.

Right now most tractors are available with one of the following ROPS configurations:
(a) Taller, folding ROPS, or
(b) Shorter, non-folding ROPS.

I would like see the ROPS options change to:
(a) Folding ROPS with tall top-half, or
(b) Folding ROPS with short top-half.

With ROPS offered this way then a tractor could be re-configured from one to the other a lot cheaper than replacing the entire ROPS.

For example, on the BX22/ BX23 it would be nice to have both of the "top-halves" so that the shorter ROPS could be used for mowing duties and parking in the garage (without folding), and then the taller top-half could be used when the tractor is used for backhoe duties.

I believe that changing the top half of the ROPS would become a major task after you did it a few times. Each time, it would have to be bolted on and then the pins set. I don't think that this would be a viable alternative. Possibly a ROPS that could be raised and lowered by having one section telescope inside the other might be more realistic. The sections could be held in place with the locking pins...
