$2K--is that for a single, double or triple remote setup?
My Mahindra 5525 has dealer-installed triple hydraulic remotes--cost $700. Bought the remotes as part of the tractor package and is the dealer's own design.

This tells you right away--your dealer is marking up the cost of the parts and is really socking it to you for labor. The parts for my setup run about $600 (valves, hoses, quick disconnects).

Good luck
You stated its the dealers own design, If he is installing non OEM parts he has a lot of room to cut the costs and still make money. If a Kubota dealer installs a Kubota kit his cost is fixed at whatever they charge him for the kit then add to that his profit margin of 25 to 40%.

You guys realize that OEM control valves and linkages are usually integrated into the tractor design. There is a reason that they usually cost so much more than the aftermarket stuff. Now some are a bit more refined than others and the cost reflects that. But to think that Kubota and others are over charging for their components is a stretch at best. If a person wanted to get aftermarket parts and try to match what the factory is offering, well, good luck. I'm not saying that it can't be done, but unless you work for free, that is about the only way that you would be able to actually match what the OEMs are offering for their integrated remote valve systems..

Just my :2cents:

mine on my JD 3032e were $995 for the pair installed before I took ownership of it
best thing I ever did

I don't understand how Kubota and JD can charge as much as they do for remotes. The equivalent Kioti comes standard with one set and dealers don't seem to charge more than $350-500 to add a second.

As JJ has pointed out, it ain't that complicated or hard to do yourself. Maybe a bit of education needed before starting but no special skills or tools. There must be a YouTube demo out there somewhere.

Take a look at the linkages that are used on those tractors as well as some of the others makes. They are not as simple as the Kioti and LS units. It is not just the valves. Heck, IMO the Bucher valves that I sell are by far superior in quality, but not only the valve, but the std control linkages will never fit as the OEM ones do. That is what you are paying for, the fit. It is not like the quality of the valves is any better, if they are any better at all.

Just a couple more of my :2cents:

That may explain why Kubota can get away with it though I would imagine that they don't build those valves and that some manufacturer makes something awfully close. IMO they can charge that much because so many of their customers are willing to pay. Simple. Like Kioti can charge $1500 more for a DK50 than DK40 when the only difference is engine stroke and bore. Charge what the market will bear.

I'm still with JJ, get to know your tractor, learn a bit about hydraulics, and use the extra $1000 for another implement rather than lining JD or Kubota's pockets.

I can sort of see why the remote setup in a cabbed tractor like tripleR's costs a bit. Is the OP's tractor open station? Maybe he can buy one remote from kubota and then add 2 more himself for alot less?

I looked at the parts breakout for the valves and it looks like the levers next to the seat are not connected directly to the valves on the GL40 (I don't know about the 60 series). It doesn't matter if it's open station or cabin. It looks like the levers have linkage that goes down to the valves. Because of this I don't know how easy it would be to use the three slots for the factory remotes if you were to try to make aftermarket valves work. I like the valves being out of sight.

Ok- this is what my local dealer just quoted me-Hi Gary, for your Kubota L5740 the price for the base remote hydraulic kit and one set of float detent valves is $797. Each addtional set of remotes is $549 (maximum of 3 sets). Does this sound right??
By the way tractor is on its way up- Should be here tonight Can not wait!!!!!

Sounds fair to me, yes you can get it cheaper, but I paid what it took as I didn't want mine to looked cobbled up like I have used on some other non OEM stuff.
