Tractor
1965 Ford 3000
As I was leaving the pasture I stopped my tractor to dismount and open the pasture gate. As I started to dismount my wife beat to the gate and opened it for me. I released the parking brake and put the selector in 3rd gear. The tractor would not move. Thinking I may have not placed the selector in the proper positions I placed the selector in the neutral position and then moved the selector back to the 3rd gear selection. The tractor still did not move. I did noticed that when I moved the selector to the neutral position the tractor relaxed as it went out of gear, but when I put it back in 3rd gear it gave no indication that it had not gone into in gear. I am not sure what is going on and could sure use some insight as to what I should look for and correct to get my tractor back in business. Thanks.

Does it work in any gear? When our 5000 with select-o-speed quit it was in all gears. Problem on the 5000 was main input spline broke which cost more to repair than tractor was worth.

I replaced the select o speed with standard manual transmission and it is still running today

I like Fords, but have never owned a select-o-speed.
I never did have confidence in that 1960's Ford tractor system.
