On a YM2000, anything over 180 is overheating under any circumstances.

I don't know about the above statement,

If temperatures over 180 were overheating, I think Yanmar engineers would have used an overtemperature sensor set at that temperature.

Dick, No Hard Feelings

Yes sir, I would like RCO to fix it......I told Stuart I would post any and all problems and solutions.........I am still defending them because we haven't really came to a conclusion til today..............Stuart said that I need to run only 4 and 5 foot implements............Well, I have a problem with that because I can't use what I have for the Mahindra on the Yanmar.........TOO big of implements...............Honestly, I feel like I am 'stuck' in a way........I hava a tractor that I can 'somewhat' use...........But I can not do what I really need to do..................Stuart is in Mexico right now................I think things will take a turn for the better when he gets back in a couple days...........

As of right now, If I had to do it over again, I would definitely think it over long and hard........But thats in the past..................I KNOW WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO, BUT I WANT TO TALK TO STUART BEFORE I POST ON HERE..........

Thanks for understanding,

Travis

I think even the dealer said a 5' cutter was too much

OOhhhh, no... Travis... I'm sorry to hear about that....I'm not gonna say we told you so....but......
For the record, we're in agreement with most of the participants here, that the 5' brush mower is too much for that tractor. I thought you were keeping that on the 40hp Mahindra.... Additionally, the cooling system should be running under pressure. Running an oversized mower on an unpressurized system is a sure fire recipe for overheating. However, so far the problem is a temp light coming on when it's NOT overheated...if I've read everything here correctly??? Classic temp sending unit problem....replacement's on the way. I'll call ya....

Yes he did say a 5' cutter was too much......He was talking about a 5 foot Brush Cutter.............He also said that a 6 foot finish mower was too much........But it could run and they do sell 5' finish mowers with the YM2000.......( I had a talk with him about this on one of the phone conversations)

But again Inspector we are getting that from the dealer, that is in question, about where it is right or wrong. I would like to see some of the regular dealers tell us, what is really right. I know on the 1700 I was told it was to run a 4 foot bush-hog, and it would run a 6 foot finish mower. Now the 2000 has 3 more HP than the 1700. So from what I was told on it, then the 2000 should be able to handle the 6 foot easy. And as easy as the 1700 worked the 4 foot bush-hog, I pretty well believe it would have run the 5 foot one, I was doing it on days that were high 90's. Hasn't some of you guys that have 2000's run 6 foot finish mowers on them??? And without them getting hot. Travis needs to know before he talks to rco so he knows what to tell them.

Isn't that what you're using?
I used a 5' RFM for hours on end with my YM1700 without problem

Travis, When you bought a 22 hp tractor you should have known that it was not powerful enough to operate the same implements you use on your 45 hp tractor. I have a terrific YM1802 21 hp and I would never use the larger implements on it that I use on my 40 hp International.

Didnt you tell him that you were going to run the implements you had on the tractor before you bought it?? What was the reply then??

I mentioned this a bit earlier, in a round about way... But, my YM2000 will run my 4' brush hog all day long in near 100deg temps without overheating as long as the radiator is clean.. Now, for a little more info.. I run mine prety hard, in fact hard enough to monitor and keep it from bogging/lugging.. I can cut thick briar feilds over 10' tall for hours and not have a light come on.. I would completely expect the tractor to stall or bogg down long before overheating, thats why the overheat situation I had was so perplexing for me.. After all, mine was a simple fix.. I doubt the cutter is causing the overheat, I could be wrong, but I doubt it.... Wanna ship it to me for a test??:D

Well, folks, tell me if I'm wrong here but I'm thinking the smaller Yanmar shouldn't be using the same implements as the considerably larger Mahindra. I'm not sure if he told us whether the rotary cutter is light, medium or heavy duty? There would be a vast difference between a light duty and heavy duty one. Does he have an overheating problem anyway? Probably. Sometimes I run my tractor all day, mowing, brush hogging and using the loader and it has never overheated. I am wondering, Travis, if you wanted the Yanmar for a smaller, more manueverable tractor for mowing? If so, you might want to invest in the 5 ft finish mower. I am thinking though that it should pull a 6' one if my 1510 has no trouble with a 5' one. If the Mahindra won't be used for finish mowing anymore, maybe you could sell the 6 ft one. And use the Mahindra for brush mowing.

RCO should be the ones to make it right with your tractor though. And if it's not going to be a simple fix, I don't think it's too much to ask that they get you another tractor.
