Problem With New Yanmar??

It does sound like your Yanmar should be able to run the implements you have. I believe the Bush Hog Squeeler is a light duty rotary cutter because I'm pretty sure that is one I looked at. You have 6 more engine hp than I have and probably at least 5 more at the PTO. Not to mention a larger, heavier tractor. I don't remember, does your tractor have a loader? Because that should provide enough front weight to run that 5' cutter.

No, I do not have a front loader, but I do have 4 front suitcase weights..........

I don't think RCO is trying to pull a scam...............I do think they are an honest dealership, far as honest as they can be..................We are just having communication issues right now................Ever since they dropped the tractor off, it is to my knowledge that Stuart has been out of town delivering tractors..............When he gets back to Dallas, Im sure everything will get straightened out................YES, I guess you can say that I am defending them in a way...........THEY HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING WRONG.................Now, if they don't take care of my over-heating problem, WHICH I KNOW I HAVE, THEN and ONLY THEN will I change my views/opinions aboout RCO Tractor and start bashing them................Until then, it would be WRONG for me to do so..........

I'm telling ya'll, if you could just talk to these people on the phone ONE TIME, you would see how nice they are...........And Stuart isn't JUST nice, he is very knowledgeable about Yanmars.................And gray market tractors in general...

Other than my for sure over heating problem, I am somewhat satisfied with the YM2000..................I have gotten a lot of compliments on it........People around here are dumbfounded about the Yanmar tractors..........Some are asking me, "did you buy it brand new?"......................I tell them NO........It is somewhere between a 76' to a 79' model year tractor............A lot of them don't believe me...........I tell them that it was re-conditioned..........

Some are on here are saying that a 5' brush cutter is too big............Some are saying that a 6' finish mower is too big.........BUT THE MAJORITY is saying that I should be able to run these implements on my tractor.........ESPECIALLY since its being done with OTHER YM2000 AND YM1700 tractors...................

You know something, I have realized that the dealers on here are not posting what could be wrong with my tractor........WHY NOT??..............I still have a Yanmar you know............We are ALL Yanmar owners no matter where the tractors come from.........

THANKS FOR THE TREMENDOUS SUPPORT,

Travis

Regardless how nice they are, the fact remains they sold you a tractor that wasn't right. As far as the dealers, they're not obligated to say a word. Maybe they're just waiting to see how good your dealer really is. It's not up to them to fix your tractor.

I know its not up to the dealers to fix my tractor.............I just think we're all in this together............We ALL have Yanmars and they ALL need maintenance/repairing from time to time no matter where they came from or who the previous owner was....................I don't know if Mark777 is a dealer or not, but he and Stan Hoye has helped me with my situation.............

If I would have had the problems you are having with the one I had, I would have been very mad. A new John Deere tractor of about the same size is between $10,000 and $11,000, and you probably paid half that amount, and for a 30 year old tractor, so it should be right at that price. Oh and the JD would have 4 wheel drive and a hydrostatic drive also. Don't get me wrong, I love Yanmars, the JD I bought is made by Yanmar, and I may very well buy another Yanmar to go with the JD I have. I like them that much, but I promise you, it will be right, when I buy it, at the price they cost, for the age they are.

Travis,
A couple of thoughts.....

I wouldnt clean the vent by pushing the blockage back into the gearbox:eek: , Not very good advise..

The implements are too big, but they shouldnt cause an overheat in my mind..

When you bought it, I'm assuming you told them of your intentions for the implements, did they sell you too small of tractor?(something to think about when they tell you it aint broke).. Maybe they could trade you out into a larger model that will fit your needs better?

As for the other dealers, remember the original recomendations from them? They got blasted pretty hard for telling you to be careful.. I think in all fairness, they are watching to see how this plays out without their influence.. Not to let you hang, but to avoid negative image..

I got my 2210B for these people (Southland Equipment Sales 864-895-4220))and the next week the wheel was leaking real bad. I called Ben the sales man that soled it to me.He told me to bring it back and get another 2210 or he had a 2500 coming that was real nice or what ever I wanted to do to make it right. The 2210B I got had 1630 hours on it .He had one on the way that had 865 hours on it .He said when it came in I could get it.I also got a Finish mower from them a new one it was bad .He met me on the 4 of July day for me to get another Finish mower. You can not ask anyone to do any more then that.Ben Kroeger The sales man and Eugene Collum the owner are good people. Now that is a good Dealer.

Yes, that is a good dealer..........

All in all, I think I need a little bit bigger tractor.......I thought the YM2000 would be big enough........Well, it is not and I am dis-satisfied.........Hopefully RCO can do something about it...............Hopefully, they'll trade me another tractor..........But I don't know what size I need............
