'Professional' grade saws vs. 'Homeowner' saws

Some pro saws are actually lighter than “farm/ranch” saws. They almost always have better power to weight ratios.

your right even according to the website I've attach above but I was talking about the home owner vs the professional not rancher vs pro... That make me wonder within the same generation if there is difference in weight between the rancher vs the pro.

I hope never
If their plant closures down south are any indication and their push for electric robotic mowers, is any indication, I'd say not in the too distant future. Of course Stihl as well as Echo sells a line of electric (battery) chainsaws as well, but Husky appears to be cutting the line of gas saws entirely. Time will tell I guess.

No issue with me as I run Echo gas saws anyway.

I will say ne thing and that is, there will NEVER be a battery operated robotic mower or any electric mower on this farm....

But a battery powered mower wouldn't leave the smell of gas in your EV.

Two days ago I had to make a run to Reno (175 miles one way) and stopped at the Home Depot (nearest one to me) for some supplies. I noticed there were NO gas powered lawn mowers or chain saws or anything else on display. EVERYTHING they had in stock was battery powered. I was shocked that they no longer gave a person a choice.

As a rule, I avoid Home Despot but they do carry the Echo Red Armor canned fuel so when I need it, I go there, but only for that and the local store had infernal combustion engines all over the place, including full line Echo. Must be Nevada is going green.. I feel for you.

I won't buy ANY Stihl saw or brush trimmer (new) because Stihl succumbed to the noise police and any new Stihl saw or trimmer, first thing you have to do is open up the muffler. That, and the fact that Stihl products are over priced compared to Echo, especially.

Nit saying easy mods on Echo saws (muff and intake) don't help because they do but the average owner don't nee to, whereas Stihl products are so choked up, t's almost necessary to get decent performance from them.
That 500 I have had a tin lid for a muffler it wasn’t choked back the 462 is the same way. The bigger husky’s and echos both had baffles in the mufflers we use to knock out and add outlets to the cans normally for triple ports. These last Stihl’s have had bark boxes put on vs opening up the exhaust port so they could be swapped back to stock covers to be legal during fire season.
