Propane Monitoring Device

Civilian - all buried tanks have an above ground valve cover for filling and gauge reading. Since grsthegreat only fills in summer, he doesn't want to dig his way to the tank (snow cover) and dig out the cover in order to look at the gauge directly. Profile shows northern Idaho, so that's my take on his statement.

I have the Tank Utility monitor connected with WIFI, as I have an outdoor access point and good coverage where the tank is. I heat with a heat pump, the propane is for aux and backup heat as well as to run the 22kw generator.
Here’s a graph from the app, I think it shows exactly what the OP was looking for.

Yes, I mean dig the snow out to get to access point. Sorry for the confusion.

I've considered it, but for the price, I don't feel it worth it in my case. The 500 gallon tank is out in the open, a short walk from the front door, easy access.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Clear information on consumption.

It helps me with planning for prebuy, and with operating the propane devices in my house. Why did I use a bunch of propane saturnday? Must have been from laundry that day. How much propane is used when I leave the circulating pump for hot water on compared to not? I used a bunch of propane last winter, but it was cold.....probably don't need to buy as much this winter.

Thanks!

Tank Utility Monitor...

I had to Google that as I had never heard of it and had no idea what it was.

That is a nifty gadget. My tank is old enough that it doesn't have the Remote Ready R3D gauge.

most of the gauges can be updated pretty easily if the screws will come out.
