Yep... had even left a note with date I turned off for the season and fill percent.

Filled me up with 13 gallons... it was 36 degrees on the day when they filled... mid 60's when I recorded fill percent.

After two bear incidents and loosing 400 gallons I now shut off the tank when leaving... only problem is I'm the only one that will turn it on and light all the pilots...

Amazing. Must be they were out there so they topped it off no matter what. 13 gallons delivered has to qualify for the highest pricing. On a 500 gallon tank, that would get you to 81% or so.

I told them we were good and company said they have to check twice a year to keep auto-fill...

It's always been at a premium... even when we lost it all and put 400 gallons in one drop.

Always keep in mind that the absolute best time to refill a tank is when it's bitter cold out. Liquid propane, like any liquid is proportionally more dense, the colder it is so you get more per gallon delivered when it's cold than when it's warm outside.

99 cents per gallon here in Central Illinois today! I said "FILL ME UP"! I should need about 350 gallons and with any luck it will last me until next July. Getting away with only spending $30 per month on propane makes me happy!

Summer fill price is 97cents. Around here the deadline is approaching for locking in for the upcoming heating season. "Pre-buy" price is $1.14. "Cap" price is $1.44 (you pay $70 to get into that option, pay market but price will not exceed the cap). Always a tough call because we don't know how much will be needed for grain drying and we don't know how cold it is going to be. I have been pre-buying but last year it would have been better to have capped because the prices stayed below the pre-pay price and the "cap" never came into play. Just never know.

I called our supplier yesterday for a price to fill up our 500gal tank (we own) and she said $1.69gal. I'm waiting a while because last year I filled up in August at 1.99 and prices dropped further in the fall.

Have you checked other suppliers in your area? My dad has his own tank and said they varied from 0.89 - 1.40 in his area.

So many variables in pricing. Around here many people are switching to natgas if they can get it and after the shortage a few years ago ($5+ if you could get it) suppliers have added huge storage tanks. We have a lot of grain here that may or may not need to be dried depending on the fall weather so ample supply is critical...we also have a pretty good pipeline and rail system. Guessing none of those are true in NH so much of the cost is in the distribution.
