You guys are KILLING me! After $4 propane the winter before last I put in a geothermal heat pump system at significant expense. I still have a propane backup furnace though, so if it gets cheap enough I can still run propane.

Just checked yesterday in the Cookeville, TN area: A couple of the "name brand" suppliers (Amerigas) quoted $2.19/gal. Then the games started. "Oh, you OWN your tank?? Well, then it's $1.89, but we'll need to inspect and certify your tank" (more$$). So back to the locally-owned mom-and-pop company that we've previously used; $1.33/gal. Still more games. "Oh, since you haven't had any refill in over a year, I can offer you a "returning customer" price; $0.96/gal".

What a profit racket!
