Love your planters. The whole thing is coming together. Great job.

The scenery reminds me of Western Washington... it's great when a plan comes together.

I make an effort to keep my trails open... one is an old logging trail where logs were skidded to the Sound and floated off....

Have to say building/maintaining trails is something I really enjoy and is high quality seat time!

Thanks. You're not the only one that loves them... so does the wildlife. They all got pretty chewed up... so next project is a fence. I've got the one big tree on the corner that will help, but the rest i'm thinking I'll pick out 4-6" trees as posts. I'll have to brace the heck out of them, as I can't dig down. Throw some kind of netting over it....

Here's what my buddy and I moved the other night.

Before

After

I lost count, but I think it was 12-14 loads. I was a little hard on the bike. It was starting to boil the gas. Nice to get those brick covered and make it more level.

Lots of work right there. How long do you think those logs will last? Down here they would rot out in just a few years.

I was kind of wondering the same thing. I have a bunch of dead ash logs on my property and was thinking of lining the driveway with them to contain the gravel, but didn't want to have to do it every few years.

I know any place I've used pine (white, pitch) logs to hold dirt they have fallen apart in a surprisingly short amount of time. I built a compost bin out of pallets at one point, and it fell apart pretty fast too. I have also used this by burying a couple of pine stumps when I added dirt for a veggie garden. A few years later, and I can't find them when I till.

It's hard to say... I've never done this kind of thing before, but if i had to guess I'd say 10-15 years.

Those are spruce. I'm guessing the fact that they're frozen 3-4 months/ year help them last longer.

I backed off her throttle limiter and she was power sliding around this corner! LOL

Of course we always follow her closely.

Pretty Cool! I can't believe you spread all that gravel out by hand!

No one is in danger of taking their head off on that tree-house brace, are they? Kind of hard to tell from the camera angle.

Beautiful piece of land you have there...and great looking track!

Thanks guys! You're right the camera angle makes it look much closer then it is. There's a safe distance there.

Hi everyone! 3 years later and not much has changed. LOL. You know how it is; life gets in the way. I have however acquired 1 tandem load of 8-16" stone, and a tandem load of crusher dust. Summer might be too busy and hot, but I plan to get these spread before winter. I'll try to get some progress pics up here if anyone's interested!

I am interested. Please keep it updated, I have been subscribed since it started .

I always nice to have updates...

Know how it is with life getting in the way of plans... but as long as you keep making progress it all seems to work out.

Glad to see you posting again! I was just wondering about your project a week or so ago.

I'll bet that little girl of yours is all grown up now!!
