I see my thread titled "Truckers" has been shut down. This is the stated reasons:
:::
Thread closed.
Reason(s) (thanks captain obvious in advance):
Political discussion
COVID discussion
General rudeness to each other
Normally, we'd ask you to start another thread on the topic if you so desire, however, we all know it'll just deteriorate back to this in 50 posts or less.
So, please take it to TNT or wait for the Front Porch rules to be enacted etc.
Any comments or questions, please PM the owners of TBN.
MossRoad::::
When I opened it up I asked that it not become political. I was looking to hear from someone in Canada (hence why it was posted in the Canada forum) about their observations and impressions regarding the Canadian Truckers Issue. I got a very well thought out and interesting reply for someone who was obviously trying very hard to keep it apolitical and fairly factual (we all have some bias).
One particular member participant did stray off pretty deep into the political realm. In spite of all the comments here suggesting that an entire thread not be shut down simply because of one troublemaker that is exactly what happened on this thread.
As far as Covid discussion, I don't recall that being a significant part of anything and the thread certainly didn't encourage it in any way. It could have just been a pretext someone threw in there to try and derail it, IDK.
General rudeness?? I guess that is in the eye of the beholder (the claim is very vague and nonspecific) so shut everything down because of that, won't leave much to TBN if that's going to be the rule.
".....or wait for the Front Porch rules to be enacted...." What???? Again, This was a perfect opportunity to test out some of what we have been discussing and afaik the rules had already been decided based on our input here. Just implement them in a test by taking out the offending political, COVID talk and let the rest continue so information can be shared and understanding of a major event in Canada could be better understood. Some really good info was shared and discussed in a polite way.
I know, I was ordered to PM the owners of TBN but I think it's best to post this here to maybe help shape the new rules (and
Muhammad opened this thread up, presumably for the purpose of getting input on these matters) that are still in the formation process and moderator involvement changes in a positive way (I guess they are slower than a parliamentary point of order).
FWIW
