Protecting attachments from the elements

Specifically, the hydraulic cylinders...... the rams. I have a few attachments that I do not have a shed to store them in. Will the rams of the cylinders become pitted from rain and snow if left outside?

Does anyone do anything special to protect them? Coat them with grease, cover them with a tarp? Or can they just be left outside?

Fluid Film is the best I have found (so far) for lubing and protecting.

I spray important areas w/WD40 than lighty tarp to allow some air movement.

All you need is a roof over it. How hard is it to build a skeletal structure on skids with a pitched roof? ****, build it on skids and the town won't even be able to raise your property taxes. Just move it (drag)around once in awhile.

I have a Woods backhoe that was outside uncovered for years before I got it. Slight rust mark one one cylinder, I just cover the rams with grease now.
