PT Road Use

In the 1950s my Dad had a lawn tractor with a snow blade on it. One night he was out clearing the end of our driveway when he decided that he needed dry gloves. So he left the tractor running with its lights on at the end of the driveway. This was in a village (30 MPH speed limit), but on a state highway. When he came out, he was happy to see that apparently one of the big plows with a wing blade had been through to clear the road. The only problem was that he couldn't find his tractor! A few minutes later we noticed the sound of an engine running was coming from a large snow bank 50 feet down the street and 20 feet from the shoulder!! We dug down to find Dad's tractor upright, still running, its lights on, and not a scratch on it anywhere!!

Bad stuff can happen, but if Lance Armstrong can ride his bike for thousands of miles on the road, chances are you can ride your PT there without injury, collision, breakdown, fire, arrest, death, or dismemberment!!!!

Besides, if, while riding on the right, with a flashing light and a Slo-Mo sign, someone does hit you, you'll soon have a rich widow!!

That's pretty funy at least it is now. I can just picture that. It must have been a winter night to remember. The truck operator must have come around a curve to fast not to see the lights on the tractor, or was really tired and not alert. Amazing that the tractor was not totaled.
