PT sighting!

Sorry, no useful information here, but I'm so excited I had to post something.

On the way home from work yesterday I saw a Jeep pulling a trailer turn down my road about a couple hundred yards in front of me. As I slowly caught up to him I figured someone was bringing home a trencher to do some work. As I mulled over in my mind what I could use a trencher for ( I do that a lot since joining TBN...), it struck me that I had never seen a green trencher before. Then I got closer as he pulled to the side of the road to turn down a driveway.

That's no trencher, that's a backhoe! Whoa... could it be? Is that a bucket on the front?... Yeow! That's a Power-Trac! It's a PT-2425!!

I know there are a couple of us in Michigan with PT's on our wish list but I never imagined I'd ever see one until I had my own. Especially less than a quarter mile from my home.

Your neighbor with his bigger unit I'm sure paid even more than that.

Prices are guaranteed not to rise for at least a year. I guess there is no hurry.

Green Bay, WI is at least 5 hours to the middle of Indiana. Then its another 4 or 5 to Tazewell... long drive /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Michigan is a little closer, but still a long drive. That shipping doesn't look too bad.

If you pick up a PT in Va., don't you have to pay the sales tax there? A 425 with attatchments will run at least 10K so at 6% or whatever it is there, appears it would be a wash with the exception, you now have to pay for gas and motel and have a trailer. Am I missing something here?

Unfortunately, I didn't even have time to stop and talk to the guy. When I went by a few hours later it was gone. I didn't recognize the Jeep either, so maybe it was one of his buddies. I'll sure be keeping my eye out for next time though!

no you don't pay sales tax, send them a check for the everything. then go down and pick it up, your slip will be marked (ship best way) no tax there or at home /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

PT is looking more attractive after visiting my local Kubota dealer. I was between a PT 425 and a Kubota BX 2200 with mmm & fel. The prices and services seemed higher than what I have been reading here. PT at least seems to have fixed prices so the shipping is offset by some integrity /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif.

I was driving my blue Jeep pulling my red trailer with my pt 2422 on it wednesday the 16th going to my buddies house to help him dig out his pool oh and by the way i also live in howell mi. i feel like i should be singing it's a small world afterall. well if garret would like to test drive my slightly bigger toy and perhapes quizz me on why i choose it over the 422 e-mail me and we'll see if we can hook up /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think I saw a 2425 in South Bend, IN yesterday. I was driving out of town and caught a glimpse of a pickup truck hauling a trailer going in the other direction. The green machine was hard to miss. It had a canopy, sat up pretty high and had a backhoe. First 2400 series I've seen around here.

HI All, I stop by every nite to read. I dont say to much, but I picked up my PT 425 in the fall & love it.
I live in upstate NY Rochester- Geneseo area if any one is looking to test drive. I drove to get mine with my landscape trailer. I recommend picking it up . You get to see all the TOYS /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, I mean attachments.

Bring the wife & prep her by telling her on the trip down ALL those projects she wants done are on the top of your list, if you get 1-2-3 and so on. Start adding up your attachments.

Saw a PT1850 with a bucket filling ruts on the face of a Dam in TVA country. Sure sitting on a steep slope , I'd guess about 60 degrees. We sometimes drive post and mow on 45 degrees, but that was a steep hill. I don't think you could turn a 1850 over, maybe slide off a hill but not roll.
