PT425 USED

i am quitting, or maybe not, because i need your help with my dream boom project , the mulch bucket, the starboecks coffee cub collector clamshell bucket, the manlift project etc. i know Sedgwood and Mr. Moss Road i am, as you Yankees say: kissing up ... i hope this is the right expression ... if not forgive me, Charlie.

the measurements are: from the bolt where the lift arms are attached to the main body of the pt 425, in a horizontal position to the quick attach plate 34 1/8 inches.

In the absolute down (touching the ground) position 17 1/2 inches from the pt main body "dust collecting Shelf" to the quick attach plate.

Mr. Moss Road these are not secret codes to go to war in the middle east ... Charlie is helping me with designing and manufacturing the pt 425 super boom.

Good. I thought you were talking in code there /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

good things should come of this project for all of us thanks to Charlie's diligence.

here is a preview. everything is going to be downscaled/ adapted for an attachment to the pt 425 or when applicable for an 1800 model.

this: just the rotator and the clamshell grapple are $1160. it can be either fastened to our non existing super boom or to Charlie's or my lackender backhoe.

for further and heavier loads: we hope to modify this A frame structure.

http://www.valbysales.com/newpage100.htm

if you study the site you will see that these feet on the A frame are retractable. so we hope to put wheels on the inside of the two legs of the frame. this will allow us to move around and reduce the tipping on it's nose of the pt 425. in other words this A frame becomes a single axle mini trailer.

if the 425 does not have the power we are contemplating to add a small Honda motor to the Upright A frame kind-a trailer to supply the necessary GPM hydraulic flow.

the next challenge to the super boom and the mini A frame trailer is the knuckleboom mower, similar to this:

another addition is a light old forklift tower to trim bushes/trees

MORE TO COME

The mower looks interesting , I would be interested in a mower like that but the weight of the power trac 425 might not be able to handle a mower like that without counter weights.

Hans,
From a commercial prospective this has great prospects. I really like your last comment "another addition is a light old forklift tower to trim bushes/trees," which is what I need.
Keep us informed as this progresses.

If all goes as Bubenberg plans, he'll have so mamy attachments for this super boom - which he accurately describes as non existent - that he'll need a tractor trailer to move them and won't have room for the PT.
As I recall, what I said at some point in our trip back from Tazewell was that we could weld a piece of tubing to an attach plate, and thus not have to disassemble the backhoe to hang a grapple on it.
From there he has me building a boom with so many functions that my first job will have to be to program the computer that controls the bank of valves to handle the hydraulics.
It's great fun to speculate, but a caution to the PT forum - don't be lining up jobs for your very own super boom for the next week or so. It may take a little more time than that to get to production.

Hans, We've had a little snow in the mountains( above 5000 ft.), but nothing here in the valley. There's only 18" at the local ski area (7000 ft.) which isn't near enough to cover the rocks.

Like Charlie, I try to keep my "flying" as low as possible, with no loops or rolls. As the PT altitude record holder, I think you should continue as the PTTPA president. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Charley,
I have 12 new jobs lined up for my "SUPERBOOM" w/ attachments. The 42' forklift is the attachment I need next. My CFO is actually thinking about it. That is a major improvement from "NFW!!! Robert
