Five years ago - it was long past time to get rid of the old apple trees in my orchard. Six - semi-dwarf trees.
They were dead, weather hardened and hard as ebony. They put the Wally to the test. Those apple tree trunks did not whiz thru the chipper like my young green pines. I was glad I had all the power of the M6040.
The limbs were what gave me the problem. Twisted, angular and tough.
I did end up cutting the limbs into straight chunks.
I got to see why folks would like a chipper with hydraulic feed. Until I cut the limbs into straight chunks - I got a few crooked limbs that would not go. It's not a whole lot of fun - getting a wedged limb out of the chipper.
