PTO Problem with Allied/Farm King

That's the first we've heard of the grease zerk.:confused2:.

I have some implements that have zerks in the middle-ish of the PTO shaft. Handy for applying lube. They are only on the higher end implements (at least only the ones I own).

I just wanted to let the folks here know that in the original post on 1-8-11 Titled "PTO shaft for new blower" I did mention the zerk on the PTO shaft but I didn't re-state it in this post. My oversite I will be careful from now on to include all information whenever I post. Looks like I have got it set up for the new shaft I hope all goes well from here on out. Thanks to all who responded. If there is any more information I will add it to this post. Ken I hope you get some information to help not only your dealership but all the dealers that sell this blower. I still think I made the right choice for this type of machine it's a well made piece of equipment. The only things I hope they change in the near future is a kick stand of some kind and a gear type manual chute adjuster. Scaper

Did you get any snow from this last storm to hit the northeast and did you find a way to make this blower work so you could make your customers happy ?

No I didn't get to use the blower. I did my work like I always have with the loader and rear blade. I hope to hear from the warehouse today on when the new PTO shaft will be be here. Scaper

I am baffled with this problem. My officemate just bought the same blower and he was totally impressed with the adjustablitiy of the three-point hitch setup. He showed me pictures of it, and there is a pin and four different holes. He pulled the pin, slid the hitch to the proper shaft overlap for use with his quick-hitch, and inserted the pin again. I must be missing something.
Aside from my misunderstanding, as a word of advice to ya Scaper. Ask clearly without ripping anybody a new one, IF you are interested in getting help from the wonderful resource here on TBN. As I read your posts, they were more full of resent and hostility than any facts I could use to help you diagnose the problem.

Well I didn't start out that way but sarcasm does that to me. You just gave the reason your friend doesn't have a problem. Quick hitch that does move the unit reward enough to use the F512 PTO shaft. Angry you bet I am I don't like what they the company are doing not just to me but to the dealers. They knew there was a problem with the s.c.u.t but didn't make sure all of their dealers were aware. You want me to be a nice guy here on the board but expect me to stomach smart comments, I'm sorry not likely at all. Treat others as you wish to be treated. If others are disrespectful don't expect me to be meek and quiet. I will try to take your advise but it's not in my nature to take alot of crap, but I'll try to tone it down thanks for your response. Scaper

Scaper, you are being a bit unrealalistic. With all the different tractor brands out there it is impossible for any company of attachments to fit all tractors without some modifications. Until FEMA (Farm equipment manufactuors association) make a standard legnth from ball to PTO we are going to deal with this. It will probably need to be a worldwide agreement since most compacts etc come from around the world. Most manufacturers provide a longer than neccesary shaft so that you can cut to fit. Can you really ask for more than that?????? Don't mean to come across as being short but you need to be more understanding of the dilima that after market companies are in whether they want to be or not.

Ed I'm completly aware of what you are saying, thats not the issue in this case. The issue was that the dealers were not aware because the company didn;t convey the information properly. I never stated that the dealer was wrong. I stated the company needed to inform them of the problem and they don't. If a car company knows there is a problem with a certain model and they don't tell the dealers we the consumer end up in the hole, same thing wirh this all I want them to do is educate the dealers so this can be avoided in the future. They admitted that they knew but were lacking in the notification area. Scaper

Read the whole post. Scaper bought an attachment and it came with a shaft. The shaft was not "compatable" with his tractor.

He simply asked for one that was.
