Kubota L3010
Hello All,

I am looking to use an older 48" Kubota finishing mower behind my 18h.p. Satoh tractor. The mower has the open end of the driveshaft attached, however the solid end that would have attached to the tractor was stolen. In looking at the opening it is 1"x1 1/8". I have found a male shaft with the appropriate universal however the shaft size is 1"x1". Of course it fits in the opening, but there is some small amount of lateral play on the 1 1/8" side. The shaft will be fairly short in length once it is cut to size. So my question... will this shaft be adequate or will I need to have a machine shop cut off the shaft and weld on a new 1"x1 1/8" one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rowdy

id make it the correct size cause if that small one wallows out the female end then its all ruined.

Check the area farm stores Rowdy. You should be able to buy the correct half-shaft with CV joint and splined receiver already attached. All you have to do then, is cut the shaft end to length.

Would I be correct to guess that there's no safety shroud either? If yes, I'm thinking you might be better off just buying a whole new PTO shaft.
