Pull-Back collar on PTO shaft

HD I hear what you are saying about rust but you and I live on opposite sides of the continent. You live in a high humidity area and I live in a semi desert. On a good year we might hit 10-12 inches precipitation including the snow. I store all of my equipment inside and here rust is just not an issue. Unless.... you leave it outside for ten years.
I didn’t know that. You are prolly ok then.
I keep most of my plastic shielding in good shape. I actually have to fix my tedder shielding this winter.

The PTO shaft is very heavy on our HD mower and it is hard to hold it up and push the shaft forward and pull the collar back. You are fighting yourself. Have you son and DIL hook it up! Or use lots of lubricant on the sliding shaft and the collar and spline.(used motor oil) I also have a file that just fits into the splines and I dress them when they get buggered. Regardless, they are a PIA!
