That's 48 MPH! I think mine tops out at about 15

I drove my new tractor home from the dealer a few weeks ago. Mine tops out at about 15 MPH also... of course I wasn't running top speed then. It took me about 25 minutes to go 4.5 miles.

Yeah, seems to take me 20-25 for my 4 miles. I usually set it at about 12-13 mph, since it's still pretty new.

When I was ready to drive my new tractor home from the dealer, I had a similar question. The top-link attachment point on the 3ph just looks so wimpy compared to everything else. I asked about running down the road with the cutter on the back. Everyone basically said the 3ph was designed to do that. (Yes I knew that, but I still had to ask...) Although I have many hours operating other people's equipment, this was the first time I bought one of my own... and I find myself paying more attention to this stuff when it is your equipment!

If the 3ph can lift it, I say "lift it". Do use common sense in driving down the road. If the tractor continues to bounce, you are driving too fast.

I seem to remember a thread about traveling across a field with a hog on the 3point and hitting a big bump. Broke major parts inside. I would rather wear down and replace a $40 wheel than something big. If your gravel roads are in need of grading you will surely find some potholes.
That was probably me. The lower links were extended by Pats QH and it was a heavy implement and an exuberant wife:
When I got a 2nd pair of Pat's for my wife's tractor, that's exactly what I did.
Cut out a section of the drag links by the amount of extension and re welded them. Now they are stock length with Pat's on. Same lift power now.
I think Ill be doing that on my wifes tractor. She hit a bump the other day with a heavy implement and it fell to the ground. Something broken inside. That extra leverage on the tractor never seemed a good idea. Im just about ready to go inside and see what it is.

It was the rocker arm that controls the rocker shaft that broke. I got it apart on a warm day and waited 3wks for another "warm" day to put it back together. I sized up the implications of arm shortening as you did and decided against it. The 30HP Kubotas seem to have the arm pivots set so narrow at the tractor end that they must angle outward severely to accomodate the implement pin spacing. The ball end areas are back bent to come out with a straight approach at normal pin spacing, but these areas are too short to shorten. The only place to shorten is already severely angled out and shortening there would make it that much more acute. I see no solution other than transferring the Pats to the 25HP Kub that cant handle the heavy implements anyway. I guess I could cut the outer ends of the L3450 arms off and just weld the Pats on at the proper angle!

I think carrying the bushog will be fine on a road trip assuming its sized for the tractor as has been stated by others.

Another for lift it as long as it's smooth road.

At first sign of rough road, slow way, way down and maybe even drop and drag the wheel.
