I hear you on the larger deck but I'm limited by the size of my trailer. If I could figure out how to fit 66" on a 60" trailer I would have gone bigger. Oh well, more seat time!
I'll have to wait another day to try my 2305. I can't tell you how disappointed I am with the dealer (who I won't name but is the biggest JD dealer in New Hampshire and is located in Walpole).
We scheduled a Monday afternoon pickup for the 2305. My parting words were "I'll be here at 4 unless I hear from you". You can guess the rest. Living an hour away I left work early with my boys in tow and a borrowed trailer. Upon arriving I didn't have a good feeling as I didn't see the tractor anywhere. Turns out a part for the MMM lift was missing and was being overnighted for Tuesday. Amazingly as I drove up there I saw lots of skinny tree looking poles with wires attached. In my neck of the woods they are called TELEPHONE POLES and actually allow you to talk to someone miles away.
I completely understand a part missing, that's life. I can even look past them not having a spare one as I don't expect them to be able to build a tractor from inventory. However, the lack of customer service and respect to not bother to call and tell me it wouldn't be ready is unacceptable. I got the "we thought you were coming tomorrow" excuse which further irritated me. My father was there on Friday with me and was also 100% clear as to the pickup time. Sadly I guess my $14k isn't important enough for them to pay attention. They didn't even attempt to make it right by compensating me in any manner. Christ, some free supplies would go a long way in smoothing some ruffled feathers.
As I feel the price was fair, I still went ahead with the deal. They will now deliver it today (supposedly) at no charge. I'll get even by never going to them for service and letting everyone know how crappy their customer service is. Prehaps I should have left the deal on the table but I feel negative press and losing service dollars will hurt more in the long run. When I mentioned that I am a poster on TractorByNet they started to look a little nervous. Apparently they don't understand customer service but they do get the power of the Internet!
