Tractor
2009 John Deere 2320
Bought a 2320 with a CX200 loader (49" bucket), 54" MMM, Ballast Box and a 47" front attaching 2 stage snow blower. Price was $19500 including tax, prep/freight & delivery.

I literally couldn't get my local (1.5 miles from my house) dealer to call me back after repeated stops in to talk the guy and comments such as "I want to buy a tractor fairly soon"

I called a dealer about 30 mins away (same dealer different store, they have 4 of them). Guy said he'd stay late so I could come play with a 2520, 2320 & a 2720, all of which he had in stock. To say it briefly - excellent salesman. Very professional and a very nice fella. He also delivered it to me and went over the tractor and the chainsaw with me. He was easily at my house over and hour just explaining things.

I ended up having them throw on a mulch kit ($190 installed) and they threw in a seat cover :D

It's rained for 4 days straight here so my ground is super saturated. With that in mind I just put the front tires on my front yard today after it finally stopped raining. Let's just say it wasn't good and I immediately backed off of it. My yard still isn't very thick (just put it in this spring - new house).

I have about 20 trees that the builder cut down clearing the lot, that are now piled up (just the trimmed logs) in a corner of my property. I used my new Stihl chainsaw (bought it from the same place I bought the tractor... free delivery too :p). I cut wood, loaded the bucket up and dumped it about 50 yards away in a pile to be split later. I had to go up and down some fairly steep hills with the loader full of wood. The tractor drove very stable and was not even remotely tipsy. The terrain was pretty wet from all of the rain so I drove it in 4x4 and in low gear. Again - absolutely no problems. I made about 10 trips all together. Man can you get a lot of work done with these tractors and in a hurry!

I will attest to the fact that these tractors are a little noiser than I thought, but the power is definitely there. I think it's safe to say that the combo of the steep hills, loaded bucket and very most ground would be a natural place to find flaws in any tractor... the 2320 performed like a champ!

I have yet to use the mower deck as my yard is still too squishy to cut yet. Again it has rained her for the better part of 4 days straight. I still have standing water (as I'm typing) in a couple spots yet.

In conclusion - the tractor has performed well and I'm very please. The loader is a very hard worker to say the least. I put some very large logs in there and filled it as much as I could with not even the slightest problem going up and down the hills. It is a bit noisier than I expected but I wasn't surprised as there were several other people that I read reviews about the 2320 who said the same thing. I'm looking forward to another sunny day or two so my property can turn from a lake back to a yard so I can try the 54" MMM. I really was on the fence whether to buy a 62" or a 54" deck. I think I made the right choice for me. The deck sticks out enough from the tires that I don't think I'll have a lot of problems. I guess we'll see after I cut for the 1st time.

Thanks again for all of the help and info on this site and advice from all the fellas that offered. I absolutely wouldn't have made as an informed purchase as I had if it wasn't for tractorybynet.com :D:D:D

Thanks,
Cory

Great price. That's less than I paid for my 4010 in 2004 with FEL and 48" bush hog.

Maybe somewhere around 2014 I may decide to trade out my 4010.

Think the HST pump system makes a lot of the noise. Wear some ear muffs.

Congrats on the purchase, it sounds like you got a good deal as well. I agree, wear some ear muffs, or plugs, hearing isn't something you want to sacrifice. Did you take any pictures by chance?

I love his enthusiasm, and the tractor looks nice as well.:D

I dont remember my bucket having that big weld on the inside of it? Wonder if they changed how they make the 200 loader buckets?

Thank you, I am finding out quickly how quickly I can get stuff done. I've been working on a big wood pile cutting and moving. Definitely speeds things up!

Thanks - I have been being very careful while moving the wood around that I'm using the bucket to relocate. The bucket is so powerful it's easy to want to just zoom zoom zoom! Taking it slow though! Again - thanks!

What do you have hiding under that car cover?

Porsche :D

Hey - Nice tractor! That looks a lot like mine, I just went out to the garage to make sure it was still here:D. I also have to do a little wood cutting/moving after a tree fell over the driveway. Why do trees always fall over the driveway - and not the other way:confused:???

I'm green (with envy). Nice machine, and yes wear earplugs or other hearing protection. (or wear hearing aids later) I didn't read any mention of ballast, remember a bucket of logs is fairly light, you will want some ballast on the rear if you have a bucket full of something heavy.

You have some nice items there, especially that Winston pup. It seems like all we hear about folks in Michigan is that they need a job. Maybe you don't live near Detroit?

Thank you for the reminder. I do have a rear ballast box. You're right though the wood is lighter than I expected in regards to how the loader/tractor handles it.

Detroit is what we refer to as the armpit of Michigan :D WE probably speak worse of Detroit than anybody else. I've been there several times and believe me it is beyond bad! I'm sure back in the day it was a boom town but now it's gang infested and severely run down!

My wife and I just happen to work in a profession that is still in high demand in this country and while the salary is not enormous when you consider others... we do just fine.

Michigan definitely is an incredibly wonderful place to live. I live in SW MI on a small private lake about 15 mins from the big lake (Lake Michigan). Michigan has great wineries, fruit farms, downhill skiing and some of the most gorgeous beaches and sunsets in the US (I use to live on the West Coast for a few years). Unfortunately most of the US thinks of Detroit when the think of Michigan... it couldn't be farther from the real Michigan. I guess it's OK if it keeps everybody out

I also heard on the radio that people have resorted to fishing around Detroit to supplement their foodstuffs. Officials have had to get the word out not to eat too much of the local fish because of toxins or what ever else. Man that just blows that when you're laid off you can't even eat the fish you have time to catch. It is pitiful what has become of Detroit. There are good people there but I'm afraid that they may get out numbered.

Anyway, I didn't mean to hijack your thread. Did you get any snow handling equipment or are you going to just use the FEL??? Might not be too long before you need it. I'm guessing by your proximity that you get lake effect snow?

Congrats on the new toy. It's good to be "green"

Some years ago we traveled from St. Jo's / Benton Harbor up the west coast of MI. What a beautiful trip. There is a safe harbor about every 15 miles, each with it's own character and attractions. There was one place up towards the north that was an enclave for the rich. Everything was like a picture of perfection. The lawns were so manicured it looked like all the blades of grass were trained to stand in the same direction.
