It looks like you are using ball valves.
I switched about a half dozen garden valves and faucets to ball valves several years ago. Some are horizontal and some are vertical. I lose about one a year to freezing that cracks the housing beside the ball. I do drain the lines and leave the valves about half open or fully closed after draining to try to not trap water inside the ball housing. Still some water gets trapped inside, freezes, and cracks. It may be due to lots of rain, then condensation building up inside.
