Putting on 3PT Implements

Seriously, the only implement I swear at a lot is the brush hog. It is kind of heavy to horse it into posistion. Most of the other implements are "light enough" to nudge into posistion. With the backhoe, its just a matter of getting the tractor lined up when I back up to it and hooking the hydraulic lines up and using the controls for the final hookup.

ed : your post seems as though i could have written it/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif, really tho the only thing that gives me trouble(sometimes) is the back blade, i usually drop implement on the concrete floor in one of the garages, but last summer i dropped the blade out side for a week or so, did put it on patio blocks but still had a hell of a time getting it back on. could not wait till i could go to #24.

Bill:

Easiest solution is a tractor for every attachment. No changing required.

I thought I was the only one with this problem. (My Wife really thought that was the case.) Thanks to all the Posters for the helpful information & ammunition (with the Wife)!! Jim /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Egon,

You are consistent: always finding more creative ways to spend my money. In the near future, I'm going to re-post a tools question, so get out my checkbook and get ready!

I am new to the tractor era as well. I have a new Kubota BX2200 and the Bush Hogg and box blade removal and installation was a pain in a$$!! I finally figured out that putting slack in chains helped with removal and installation. The forks on my 26" Hammer make easy work of the removal of the lower lifts. I have to beat them back on with a rubber mallet. Being new, I am changing the implements alot. And I travel with it every weekend doing work at my mothers house. You will eventually find the method that works best for you.

Seeing as I don't got any of my own gotta work with someone's.
If you were getting real advice from me it would tend to be very very frugal on your check book.

Go to a TSC, Rural King or the farm supply store in your area and get you a " pinch bar". It is a long heavy pry bar about five foot long. It will allow you to manhandle a heavy implement into position. If I remember correctly they cost about $27.00. They do not bend easily, I have never bent one.

My B7500 was delivered last Saturday, but until last night the only toy played with was the loader. When I ordered the tractor, I also had the dealer order a set of lift arm stabilizers like the 2410/2910 bars with the holes and pins to replace the turnbuckles that were standard on my tractor. I am really glad I did that. The parts came in just in time to mount the new mower. This setup is goint to make life easier when switching attachments.............chim
