From what I can find out, NEC Lighting is the only manufacturer right now. The quad-phosphor coating gaves out a better "daylight" appearance to things (500K) than a tri-phosphor coating. Better color rendition index.
I find it strange that NEC's website has no reference to them at all. The only internet hits on the bulbs I got were in Australia.
