That sounds more like a trip to the DMV than a farm store. Unfortunately there is way too much of that kind of service in every retail segment today. Part of the problem is that the people working there have not been taught a work ethic nor do they understand why they have to make the customers happy. Sad/w3tcompact/icons/sad.gifbut true!

The wife and myself hit the stores located in Martinsburg, WV and Hagerstown, MD. Since we are surrounding by a large farming community, most implements and larger ticket items were gone.

It appears as though the Liquadators are beginning to ship everything out of the warehouses to sell off. A lot of winter supplies were apparent. Kerosene heaters, wood stoves, flues, and such.

A few tools remained. Looks as like people are waiting for the 30-50% stickers to appear to get the remainder.

In a way, it is sad to see companies go thru these liquadations, but the company had bad business practices and is paying the price. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

John I checked out the Cobleskill store yesterday. They have a lot more stock left than the Amsterdam store. We picked up a few garden things. Too bad I just got my backblade!! /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif

For what it's worth and contrary to their announcement, the CT Farm & Country in Burlington Vermont is a casulty. They've got a big "going out of business sale" sign across the front of the store and their normally full yard is looking a bit empty.

I've stopped in at QF&F and picked a few things up at the sale. Waiting for the price to go down on a few more items before I make the purchase.

The Howell store has dropped their prices to 50 and 60%. I haven't been to Howell since last weekend.
I did stop in Port Huron and found some good deals on hydraulic fittings and a spare pump for my orchard sprayer.
The sign on door said only 9 days left before they close.

We have been told that as they start closing other stores they will be moving whats left to the coldwater store and selling it. The lady said it could go on for a couple of months yet.

I stopped by the Cobleskill store the Monday before last hoping to pick up a 72 inch tiller but unfortunately there were none left. They did have lots of tools and generators etc inside, and quite a few people were in the store. The outside gate was locked so I didn't get into the yard, but I could see some small carry all's etc. I'm sorry to see the store go and feel sorry for the employees who helped me out on previous purchases (especially Ken who worked the yard). I guess they are not saying yet which stores will re-open, hope they reopen Cobleskill as there is not much else around.
