Question about a grapple

Didn't see any bronze bushings on our loader and it sees a lot more use than the grapple will so I'm thinking as long as we keep the pivot points greased we should be OK for the long run. My thoughts are that we're already over engineering this grapple without additional bells and whistles although your suggestion is well taken and does have merit.

The pole barn is my safe haven. It's a place I can go to work or play and set a cold beer down without someone asking me if I used a coaster. Don't need to pick up my tools if I'm not in the mood and nobody will care if I don't anyway. Not that I let it get that bad but there has been a few times when things didn't quite go the way I was expecting so I just walked out the door and away from the project for the day and left things just as they were. They usually look a lot different the next day. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Also think a little bit of Junkman might be rubbing off on me too. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Steel on steel will handle more pressure that bronze and will last longer if kept greased. I vote for steel.

I actually heard they were getting ready to change Junkman's classification to
older than dirt /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That he deserves! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Junk fact is you were the last one to let me down. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

How long do you think it will before we get to see the finished product. I like your design but not having it welded to the bucket, but I guess one could always buy another bucket. Then again I really don't know why anyone would need one.

merits to both methods. Now would be a heckuva lot easier time to install a bearing surface than after its assembled and welded, but to each their own! Is "overengineering" a cardinal sin, as long as you don't go over budget??
