YM1510D w/ FEL
I have done alot of reading on this website and on some of the dealer's websites about towing safety, mainly about only towing heavy loads with the drawbar that attaches below the rear axle of the tractor. To date I Have not been able to find one of these drawbars for my 1510D. Does anyone know where I would be able to aquire one? Or plans/specs so I could make one myself?

If your yanmar does'nt have a swinging drawbar bracket under the diffy.. then you will have to use your 3pt drawbar. ( commonly called an 11-hole drawbar ) To do this safely.. you will have to get a set of drawbar stays. These attach to the toplink connection and hold the 3pt drawbar down to prevent it from rising ..say.. during braking.. and letting the tounge of the trailor come up.

I built my own for my 1110. It is super easy. I'd build one for you, but I don't know if you holes are on the same spacing as mine were. On my tractor there were three bolt holes under the axle. I located the three holes and drilled some matching ones in a 2x2x3/16 square tube. I then welded a piece of 2x1/2" bar stock to the tube. Bolt the assembly on and you're done.

My Kubota has a square tube below & behind the differential. The thing is about 2" x 2". I got a piece of scrap stock about 1 1/2 x 2 x 18" from a steel recycling yard for about $8 and in the machine shop at work, they drilled 2 holes in it, 3'4", one to pin the drawbar into the tube & one to take a trailer hitch. When I bought my Yanmar 180D, I took it to a machine shop (was retired by then, couldn't use the machine shop at work) & they milled it down to fit the Yanmar for $10. So I have about $18 into my drawbar & the dealer wants well over $100.

I also have a YM1110D, and if I remember correctly, the YM1510D has basically the same 3pt and drawbar configuration. I attached a photo of my factory original YM1110D drawbar. The part that extends forward is a "U" shaped channel with the open side down. Three bolts go through that part into the under side of the differential housing. The horizontal hole is for a bolt to hold tabs for the lower arm stabilizer chains.

Thank You all for responding.

Greg, that is exactly what I was looking for. Now just to find one! It seems that the yanmar drawbars are one of the items that are difficult to find. I will probably have to have one made. but that isn't a big deal. Could you tell me what the thickness of the metal is?

The part that goes forward under the tranny is about 1/4" thick. The other part is thicker, about 3/8". Its all probably metric.
