I just purchased a JD 3520. It's a great machine but I have a question on the lights. I never get the "running" lights on the ROPS to go on steady. They do flash but never go on steady. Are they supposed to? I am ordering the rear work light and am wondering how this is going to work if I never have a constant 12v on the ROPS. Thanks for any help.

Those are "hazzard" lights, not runnings lights, that's why they only flash. The work lights use a wire that is under the seat for power.

Enjoy your new machine!:D

Wired in a rear work light yesterday by picking up the steady hot lead for the running lights that are attached to the hazard warning lights. Now I can see when I put it away at night.

Out of curiosity, what wattage are those work lights? If you tapped into the low wattage running light wiring you may want to stock up on fuses (and a fire extinguisher, just in case!). If you found a thicker hot wire not connected to the running lights (a previous poster indicated it may be under the seat) you should be fine.

I'm going to be rigging my 3320 for lights soon -- looking at the wiring harnesses under the seat, can anybody who's wired lights to a 3XXX recently remember the color coding for what they used? There two sets right behind the seat -- a black wire and a purple/blue wire bundled together and a black wire and a purple wire bundled together that are just stubs. What are these for? There's a JD harness specifically for a rear work light kit that I think plugs into something already there, but where?

I have a JD 3320 with a FEL, and the front headlights are all but worthless. Next time (first time) the tractor goes back to the dealer it is getting additional lights installed - preferably on the underside of the top ROPS bar!!!

black/purple is the wire you need.. on my 3320 I have the forward light kit (2 lights) and 1 rear light kit (single light) Dealer said could't run two rear lights due to switch not being able to handle load.

hope this helps.

When I asked my dealer to add a rear work light he asked if I want 1 or 2. I had 2 installed and they work great. I don't know if they used the wiring harness that was on the tractor already or if they had to use another because of the 2 lights.

Photos please; I'd love to add some lights to my 3320.

Looks good--what I have on mine is similar--2 lights. I have the brush guards on the hazard lights (metal bracket) and have the work lights mounted to a magnetic base, which then mounts on the hazard bracket, usually keep one facing forward and one back, but it is really easy to swing them around if you want them facing in the same direction. The wires under the seat had the extra plugs in them so I wired the 2 lights together and then pigtailed them to these "extra" plugs so that I can plug them in very quickly, don't have the wires permanently installed as I mostly need them in the winter.

Thanks, what are the yellow disks on top of the factory light?

The yellow disks are the magnets--allows me to face the light either forward or backwards.

Im sorry if I missed that before, but that is one of the best ideas I have read. Even if mounting them higher on the bar, with hd magnets, they are always adjustable.... Great idea.
