Position control will bring the implement to a realitive position to the lift handle at the quadrant. for instance.. if you lift the implement to the desired height, and then made a mark with a marker as to where the lift handle was on the quadrant, and then, lifted the lift up full, or dropped it down, and then returned the handle to that mark, when you look back, the implement will be where it originally was...

My CK20 has a scale of number so that you can hit the same spot each time. The position control only requires that one move the lever to the desired position, and then goes to neutral without having to return the lever manually to neutral.

This system is much more accurate than 1/4" which does just that, moves in 1/4" increments, not as accurate. Having older style is even more work as the lever must be returned to neutral, and trying to hit the same spot each time is much more difficult without putting on check chains at different spots.

With position control, you can set it high or set it low as quickly as you can move the lever to the position, and you're done.

i remembered on the way home i dont think i tried the position control on the kubota and massey, it was a cub cadet, i probably assumed the other subcompacts were the same. the cub just had either full up or full down no inbetween.

Could you post the model number? I'm only familiar with one modern cub tractor with a gasser engine.. i wasn't under the impression that it had only up/down hyds. I can however, lookup the specs for you with the model number.

I didn't know there was such a thing. Even the 8N had a 3 pt. control that allowed you to set the height of the drawn implement. The draft control raised it up if needed, but then it settled back to where you had it. Mine had a little thumbscrew widget to help you get the exact spot each time, as does my Case.

Another neat thing about the CK20 3pt control is that it comes with a screw type "stopper" that you can slide along the track that has the numbering on it near the lever. I love this for snowblowing the driveway. It's gravel and I can't put it down all the way or else it picks up the gravel and rocks. So I set the "stopper" at just above the lowest setting and I don't even have to look down when droppping the snowblower, I just slowly drop the lever until it hits the "stopper" and go. Makes things much faster and safer. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
