It seems most have missed your question Scrinch. I too am to old to be handing the tiller and mowers too. I have a Yanmar 1300D, I Plow and till my 1/4 acre garden just fine with it and use a 5 foot brushog for the rough acerage. As for the yard which my garden is in I use a riding mower. try plowing, tilling or hogging with a riding mower, it is near impossible, The 1300D will work for you just fine. The others are talking about cost effective and tightest turns. Mumbo jumbo to me, I use what I want not some cheap version that won't do the job! Because someone suggest feasability of cost that may not be there bag of beans, means didly squat to me. I believe in over-kill, get what it takes to easily do the job, less hard work on me. too old for 20 year old mens heavy duty work.

I must have a problem, too. 2 acres and 2 tractors and a lawn tractor as well. I wouldn't give any of them up though!

Get whatever tractor you want. The point of tractors is to spare you doing the work by hand. They do have reverse so you can turn around in tight areas (and mow under trees).

I've been really sick (chronic pancreatitis) and I find it painful to sit much in front of my computer, or on my tractors for that matter. For whatever reason, the Yanmar is kinder to me than my lawn tractor. Really glad I have this thing now! Just got a post hole digger so I could plant about 30 bushes and I don't think I could've done it without this wonderful little tractor. Anybody who needs a tractor due to physical disabilities or just plain aging, I say buy the tractor. I couldn't afford to buy a new one but I love my Yanmar!! I can't make all the turns I need to in my yard either with this size tractor but like I said, that's one reason they reverse.

I haven't been around for a few other reasons either like falling in love, getting engaged, breaking up... life can certainly be a merry-go-round

Glad u are back. I too have suffered from pancreatitis. I literally feel your pain. I thought that I was having a heart attack. Get well soon.
