Questions about the PowerTrac 425

   / Questions about the PowerTrac 425 #31
There are no rear hydraulic hookups on a 425. maybe a 2425, but they are two different machines.

The wheelbase is longer on the 425 over the 422, has the ROPS on it, many other small things also, I really didn't look for them. I just know the more power the better you will be. I wish they made a machine in the 425 that was a diesel.

Argh, we didn't have time. :( We run a growing business and this spring has been crazy! Won't have time today either. Will get over there hopefully this week.

Question: Do you think the Homeowner 422 PT would be enough? Is there a big difference in power/capability between the 422 and the 425 (besides the obvious 3 HP)? Seems like one major difference is the 425 has rear hydraulics for a backhoe, but we don't actually plan to get that, so why pay for the hydraulics?

Thanks guys.

There are NO rear hydraulics on any of the 400 series units.

The units with BH would have hyd at the rear.

One should be able to add rear hyd.

Maybe diverter valve or another valve

Is there rear hydrualics on any of the units?

As far as I know, only the units with backhoes have hydraulics at the rear, however, I don't think any of them have quick attaches on the rear. I think its plumbed in permanently. For that matter, I don't think the backhoe is detachable anymore, but I could be mistaken.

They used to make a sort of 3-point hitch on the back and the backhoe attachment could be purchased separately. I think they did away with that. As I recall, someone purchased one of the backhoes for the 1400 series (or it could have been the 2400 series) and put it on a 400 series unit.
