Questions on Protien Tubs

I purchased a 16% protien tub for my horses.

Does it need to be kept out of the weather?

Will it spoil if it gets wet?

3 Horses will have free choice of hay and the protien tub. About how long can I expect it to last. It is a 200lb tub.

It all depends on what tub it is. Some of them are made so that the water won't degrade them. They are also made so that the horses can only lick so much at one time. These are the best ones. The others will degrade rapidly if kept out in the weather. Also it will be gone in no time as your horses will likely stand there and lick it all day long. If it is the timed release it will last longer.

I think I bought the inferior type. It was $35 for a 200lb tub. Guess I will get it out of the weather.
