Quick BX23 ?: Hoe and MMM on at the same time?

I have a Kubota 60" MMM that I used to use with my BX2200. The 2200 got traded in on a BX23 and I'm attempting to attach the mower for the first time. Problem is, I can't get the mower rear links on the tractor to drop in order to attach them to the mower. Do I need to remove the hoe in order to do this? Thought I'd ask the simple questions first before doing much "tractor sleuthing". Thanks in advance for any help with this!

I believe that you need to disconnect the hydraulics to get 3PH to operate.

In a word? Yes. The rockshafts for the 3 pt. hitch are connected to the lift arms for the MMM, so when you try to drop the arms, the rockshafts hit the platform for the BH. Also, you don't have to disconnect the BH to get the 3 pt. hitch hydraulics to operate.

On my B3030, I need the 3PH to move the mower. But I have a backhoe too. So I have to remove the backhoe to attach the hitch to raise or lower the mower.

Strange, but my dealer delivered my BX23 with the MMM on. I could raise and lower it with the BH on, although I did not attempt to use it, it was snowing.

Your problem may be that you have the knob by the operators seat set to TOP. This will prevent the MMM from lowering. It is supposed to do that. Anytime you have an attachment on you can set it to top so that the MMM does not lower when you lower the attachment.

Since there is no down pressure on the 3 pt, I would think that the little arms your 3pt is attached to normally would not be a problem with the backhoe on. I have never really given it much thought.

One other quick thing is that you might have your 3PH lowering rate knob (opposite side of MMM height adjustment knob) turned all the way, which locks the 3PH from going down. A similar problem happened to me, and I had forgot that I locked the 3PH in the raised position!

I just install my MMM this spring with the backhoe on. Because there is no weight on the MMM mounts you will need to pull them down. They may be stuck from not being used, though they will come down. Set your knob to it lowest cutting height, and pull them down.

With the backhoe and loader installed, you can lift the entire tractor off the ground which makes the installation of the MMM much easier.

It appears at this point the hangup was mostly due to "sticky" links. Thanks for all the suggestions! Also, the rear upper links on the rear 3-pt (rockbars?) do interfere with the BH (platform/control stand) and that appears to limit how far the rear mower links can descend towards the deck. Using the hoe and FEL to temporarily lift the tractor when attaching the MMM is an interesting idea.
