If you don't mind me asking, where did you get that price?
I just priced one last week and I got prices of $4800-5700. Uninstalled with 12" bucket and NO pads for outriggers. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif )</font>

If i would have paid that kind of price for the Kubota BH my BX 23 would have cost me $16600 to $17500 instead of the $ 15500 i paid for it.

I elected to have the dealer do it for me since I was a bit tapped on time. I'm not regretting that either. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )</font>

How much did this add to the cost of the BH?

My local kubota dealer quoted me $4975 installed bh6000 on BX2200. Others in the area quoted as much as $7900 uninstalled. Kubota dealer says he gets high volume discounts & free shipping from Woods that other small time Woods dealers don't get. (Woods sells through all kinds of little industrial machinery places that don't handle tractors.)

My BX23 was 15500 with the Kubota BH.
With the woods BH at 4975 I would have had 16775 in it.

I don't see any reason for all of the fascination over the woods BH?

The dealor wher i got my BX2200 from quoted me $4300. for the woods bachoe if do it myself, and 4800 if he does it. My facination with the woods backhoe is $4300. verusus $8500, quote i got to trade , and that trade quote was a year old. My BX is still like new minus a few scratches, so i will most likly get the woods this summer.

In your case it makes sense.
However I have never seen a case where it was cheaper to add the BH to a new BX later than it is to go with the BX22 or BX 23 from the start.

Needs change. Origional plans do not always come out as expected. That's where the Woods unit will come into play. Having the Groundbreaker available will allow the flexibility that Kubota will not allow by marketing the 23's hoe as an add on.

I bought a BX2200 in 2000. No bh was then available on any BX. Buying a Woods bh would be far cheaper for me than trading in on a BX23. Some people cannot afford a BX23 now and just don't like the idea of financing. You can't get the BX23 without the bh, which means you can't simply add it later. For these folks, getting a BX2230 now and adding the Woods bh later is an alternative which meets their financial abilities. Some people need a tractor now, but are not sure whether buying a new larger property in the future will necessitate a bh. Again, the Woods gives them flexibility in meeting their changing needs.

It is Kubota who put themselves in this situation by deciding not to sell the BX23 without the backhoe. If they wanted to, they could offer the bh as an option which could be added at a later date.

I just copied and pasted this post from a nearby thread. The quote is from the member blackmajicwoman. I could hardly believe my eyes when I read this. The poster claims to have a well performing bh6000 on a BX1500.

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( I bought my BX1500 last July. Since then, I have moved 100 yards of fill and 200 yards of loam with the FEL. I pulled a 60" Woods landscape rake to prepare 1 acre of loam for grass seeding. I have plowed through 11 snow storms, one of which was 12" deep, wet, thick, heavy snow on my 50'x30' drive way. I have pull my 2 yard dump trailer full with 2 yards of stone with no problem (note: this WAS on a level surface, not sure I could pull it up an incline, but not bad for a 15HP). And then dumped the stone and spread it over a 20'x10' area. My latest, I had a Woods BH6000 back installed and it operates with no problem. I dug 6 dry wells and back filled them with no problem. Notice the trend. I am more than satisfied with the BX1500 performance. I feel I bought the "right" tractor to suit my needs.)</font>
