Quick Hitch Cat 1 question

If anyone has this Cat 1 QuickHitch Category 1 Quick Hitch 14116 #14116000 by Rural King Farm Store...

I think it is what I need and think it will fit my attachments (scrapers, brush hog, finish mower, box blade, etc)

But the nearest Rural King stores do not have it in stock and won't get one for me to measure it..

The web site says the inside measurement is 27.16" but it also says the lift arm spacing is 27.16"

If you have one, could you measure the distance between the "U" part where the pins go ??

Need both the distance between them and the distance to the outside of them.. See attached crummy drawing..

Any help would be appreciated.. If it fits (hopefully), will order one...Category 1 Quick Hitch 14116

It appears to be saying your implement should be slightly less than 27" wide. The pins would stick out each side allowing the hooks on the quick hitch to lift them. If your implement body exceeds 27" it would not fit between the hooks. If is is very much less than 27" it would be too small for the quick hitch to lift.

I think QH's are better standardized than implements.

Here is specification/standard for QH dimensions....



You are going to find that unless attachment/implement was specifically designed to fit this specification, most "stuff" will be close, or maybe not.... To make QH work with all your implements you may have to do some mods and changes on implements so all fit your "standard" QH.....

First thing you will find about a QH is top hook will be too short and implement hardware will interfere with bolts holding top hook... It common problem with all Chinesium QH's...

There are specific dimensions of QH's by Category of hitch.

The manufacturers of QH's seem to follow those guidelines fairly well considering the volume of makers.

Attachment standards aren't even close. They don't seem to care. Some will even tout their QH capability. But rarely are.

So with all that said. I'd guess the QH you are looking at is as suggested above. 27" inside width or slightly more. Good luck with your attachments.

I appreciate your replies... my original need is the EXACT measurements off of this particular quick hitch.

I know it will fit most of my attachments, but need measurements to make sure it fits them all...

Bought other quick hitch's and had to return them... do not want to buy another one until sure of measurements.

The nearest Rural King is 40 miles and will not get one without promising to buy it..

My point is that almost every QH will have the minimal measurement between the hooks. Your attachments may/may not.

Since you are concerned about it fitting "all" or your attachments indicates you have measured them? Are there some that exceed the 27.16" measurement claimed by the QH manufacturer?

Your concept to buy a QH that will exactly fit ALL you implements is flawed as not all implements were designed for QH compatibility.... A QH "standard" just redefined a very loose CAT 1 ( or 2 or 3) concept.... Get QH, mod each implement to fit, and move on....

I just now read your RK link. Glaring statement. "Brand May Vary".

So you have no idea what you are getting. Buy one. Then modify your attachments to fit.

Order one. Measure it. If it doesn't meet QH standards, refuse it. It is not what it claims to be.
