Quick Hitches quick hitch problems

Well I got a quick hitch from harbor freight and was that a mistake. I read the owners manual online before I made the purchase. It said nothing about needing bushings for the lift arms which I am 99% sure I need (look at my pics and tell me for sure). From what I read a quick hitch goes from cat 1 to cat 3 on the lift arms and toplink. So I can make my own adaptors for the lift arms out of bushings from tsc. That part is not too bad. The toplink is where things get bad. I have a woods lr72 which is qh compatible. When you use a qh you use the bushing under the toplink pinhole, right? The hf qh toplink hook will not go all the way down into it even off of the qh. The next problems is I can only get one bolt to into the hook to come close to working. The bracket where the toplink hook goes is wide than the rake so it will not work. What do I need to do to get the toplink to work? Did they make the toplink hook wrong?

Yes you need bushings. Most of the HF models I've seen go to cat 2 but yours looks like it will take cat 3 bushings. Now on your top link does the hook go completely into the bushing? And also seem that the top hooks are not made to stick far enough out,

That top hook looks like it doesn't have a snowball's chance in **** of fitting the implement. Whenever this happens to me I just think.. "ahhh well, the Chinese got me again!"
When I see that the Chinese finally grasp the concept of interchangeable manufacture, which the rest of the world has been using since the industrial revolution, some of their products might actually perform their intended function, and I might feel a wee bit less ambivalent toward them. I'll know they've made a start when I finally see a 1/4-20 screw fit a corresponding 1/4-20 nut, instead of hardware that is either faaaar too loose, or needs to be forced together with a breaker bar.

I have a tuffline blade that is cat 1 and 2. I tried a lift arms pin out of it in my qh and it was small. I was going to take another picture of the toplink hook and realized that it if I grind a little off of the hook it will fit but it still will not stick out far enough.

The Chinese are supposed to be good at math but they can't do conversions to inches to metric.

All QH require bushings. So that should be no big deal. Top hook is another story. Looks like the only way it would work is to weld a piece of metal to the back and drill holes for it to mount.

I got the top hook so it will fit the bushing. I guess I am going to have to make a adaptor for the tophook to set it back.

Mine had the same problem. I removed the bolts from the top hook and riveted it in place with mild steel rod at 15 inches above the bottom(standard) so it would fit between the uprights.

You would lose the adjustable height, but that was useable with all my implements.

An alternative is to get the top adapter and not use the hook.

Where the hook bolts on is too wide to fit between the area where the toplink hooks. I am either going to make a adaptor or buy the adaptor to fit non qh compatible equipment.

Bullitt- I had the same problem as far as front to rear distance. I ground part of the bracket from my implement and it worked fine. I also replace the 2 bolts that hold the hook to the Qhitch and put in pins and gained even more clearance. I did not have the width clearance problem you have.

I tried after grinding and it still would not work so I welded a piece to it. I was going to sandblast the hook but believe it or not the paint or powder coat is stuck to it pretty good. All I have to do is paint it. I want to get some pins instead of bolts so I can adjust it easily. I need to make a adapter or buy a adapter for non-qh compatible equipment. Some equipment I may be able to modify. Can someone post a pic of a bushing on their lift arm? I have heard of some people adding grab hooks to them. Are there any upgrades I should make to it before I paint the qh? Is there anything different about the i-match?
