I need to replace a shear bolt on my snowthrower, however it is at a different location. What size are the shear bolts, more specifically what size wrench and socket will I need to do so? I want to make sure I bring the right tool. Also what tool is best used in lowering the skid shoe? Thanks.

On my unit (2 years old) the shear bolt head size is 7/16" and the skid shoe head size is 1/2".

You were right - 7/16" - Thanks!
I replaced a shear bolt and lowered my skids and I was a snowblowing machine today.
