Quirky and OCD tendencies..... Anyone else have them?

My mother always does the vertical wall plate screws - but I agree with the previous poster who said it just gives the appearance of being under or over tightened.

My MIL had a thing with the paper towel holder in the kitchen. When tearing off a sheet, you should never leave any portion of the next sheet hanging down off the roll - it had to be rolled back up just right.

And me, when snow shoveling, I like seeing perfectly straight lines on the sides of the driveway and walkways. I've actually gone as far as taking a shovel full of snow and placing it back into a gap to make it straight. I really need to lose that behavior.

I've always been a collector of old radios - mostly rummage sale variety. In my barn and in the garage, I have multiple radios, each tuned to a different station that I listen to. Then I turn a radio on or off depending on what I want rather than manually tuning in the station.

Jeez, no one has even mentioned loading a diswasher properly! One of the things that has to be just right for me. Otherwise I am a slob.

Ha I have to laugh at this one because I don't even know how to turn ours on and never have I loaded it, because it would be wrong!

Wow, what's it called when you don't do any of these things? ...Relaxed?

We used to mess with a guys office down the hall, we would move his mouse 4* clockwise... come back to see if it was corrected. I remember moving his photo of his wife an inch closer... he never missed a beat.

I drives my wife nuts if she goes into my wallet, money in no order, usually mixed up with receipts... definitely not facing any one direction. Never folded underwear (mine or hers) and I do most of the laundry.

Folding underwear? Now that's a bit over the line! I do most of the laundry, and everything has to be folded just right, especially the T-shirts. She doesn't even attempt to fold them any more. As for the underwear, as long as only the "white" shows in the drawer, I'm happy! Money in the bill fold? I have to have them all in order, right side up and front facing forward. I guess my biggest compulsion is checking the doors during my nightly trips to the bathroom.

Wow, I do almost every one of these things.

Being an electrician I have installed hundreds of switch plates and receptacle covers. Every one of them had the screws located vertically. There were 10 of us electricians in my department at the time so one time while we were on break, I asked the others what do they do. All of them said they installed them vertically. It looks more neat and professional.

I am also a counter of things. I am surprised that no one has mentioned trying to count the number of geese in a flock flying over head! Or any flock of birds or animals for that matter.

Oh, yeah. All the time. We had 24 turkeys in the back yard yesterday; the record is 64 at one time. Oh, I counted 12 squirrels...the record again...at one time, maybe 10 years ago.

Just count the legs and divide by 2.

I too count the birds at the bird feeders and roosting places. It does come in handy for the Audubon's National bird count weekend.
