Quirky and OCD tendencies..... Anyone else have them?

The wall plate screws for 2-way switches should be vertical. 3 way, horizontal. 4 way, diagonal. The benefit is you know what sort of switch you are dealing with when you approach it. This is incredibly important and should be added to the building code ... :laughing:

Whatever the opposite of OCD is, my dog has it. He has what I call "paired shoe syndrome."

If he sees a pair of shoes on the ground-- wham he snatches one and runs away. He apparently cannot stand to see two shoes together!

Wow!. Screws in receptacle covers etc! I have never even heard of these things. I have seen people line up things on their desk, just so and things like that, but boy I haven't heard of some of these things... Jeez. I guess I am just a slop bucket. Some order and tidiness in a persons environment is a good thing, but PEOPLE!, some of you are carrying this a bit to far don't you think?

OMG- I just checked my wall switches, cereal boxes. pantry, and wallet. I must be a failure as none of them complied with the above examples, albeit I do recall counting stairs a few times in my past:banghead:

This thread is a perfect example of why you should always find "common advice" on a forum for answers to questions you are seeking. Common advice meaning you are hearing the same thing from multiple people and hearing a recurring theme in the question and/or advice you are seeking when coming onto a forum asking about stuff.

I guess the one that stands out for me is I count stairs. Weird I know. Not sure why but I have done it for as long as I can remember.

I don't count stairs but anytime I hook or unhook a gooseneck trailer I count the revolutions as I operate the jack. My money has to all be oriented the same way. I always have to lay out the clothes I am going to wear the next day before I go to bed. Can't go to sleep if I don't.
